How They Met:

Samantha and Kyle met through mutual friends a few years after college. When Samantha first met Kyle, she thought he was cute, but his confident attitude was not appealing to her. It was only at a friend’s pool party a few months later that she got to know him better and instantly developed a secret crush on him. Kyle doesn’t take hints very well, so Samantha basically had to shake him and say, “I like you!” Once he realized that she was being serious, he grabbed her and kissed her and they have been together ever since. They just celebrated their 6-year dating anniversary in July.

The Proposal:

It was Thanksgiving Day, last year. They had agreed to split the day with both families, visiting Kyle’s family for the first half and Samantha’s for the second. Thanksgiving has always been a big deal at Samantha’s house – they have about 30 people over every year and look forward to it year-round. Kyle’s family doesn’t make such a big deal about it, so Samantha, of course, wanted to spend most the day with her family.

She ended up getting ready at her parents’ house that day since she had come over early to help cook. Samantha was anxiously awaiting Kyle to come pick her so that they could go to his family and then hurry back to hers.

Of course, Kyle was running late, and this didn’t make Samantha very happy. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and a black limo was sitting in the driveway.  She knew right then what was about to happen. The limo pulled up to a park that she had never been to before. She sees Kyle standing under a tree by a pond, wearing a suit and holding an umbrella (it was pouring rain).

Kyle explained to her that he brought Samantha to this park because this is where his dad proposed to his mom 30 years earlier. Kyle’s mom passed away when he was 9 years old, so it was very emotional for both when he told me where we were standing. He got down on one knee and revealed the most beautiful ring she has ever seen. She, of course, said YES (through many tears), and then he told her that he had one more surprise – a videographer had been hiding behind a tree the whole time, and he captured the entire proposal.

How they met:

Leah and Shawn met during graduate school (MBA) at Arizona State University’s WP Carey School of Business. They were introduced by a mutual friend at school, who also happened to know that both Leah and Shawn were going on the summer study abroad trip to Europe! What a perfect time to meet!

The proposal:

Leah and Shawn took a vacation to Seattle. One of the days they were there, they decided to go with some of Shawn’s work friends to what Leah thought was a picnic at the infamous Gas Works Park. When They got there, they sat down in the grass and admired the beautiful Seattle skyline from across the water. It wasn’t long until Leah started to notice that Shawn was nervous and glancing at notes of a speech he made on his phone! Shawn then stood up and pulled Leah up with him, and then got down on one knee and popped the question!

The Wedding:

The color scheme for this wedding is just flawless. It is navy and white striped with hints of blush and gold. To us, it’s the perfect pair of masculine and feminine, which might we say is perfect for a wedding! The blush and gold, which are so on trend right now, give off such a soft and romantic feel, where the stripes gave just a hint of nautical to this beach wedding.  They took the color scheme and executed it to a tee from the ceremony to the floral, and right into the reception. It all tied together perfectly.

The bridesmaid’s dresses are a short navy ensemble that we love. The top is so flattering with the halter type look, and we think overall they look so chic and classic. Leah’s gown, is, of course, breathtaking with adorable sleeves and a low back that gives just the right amount of sexy.

As we are about to dive head first into one of the busiest spring seasons we have ever had, at the same time we are super excited to this years wedding trends.  One of the most fascinating parts of our job is to see how each couple executes their perfect day, to a T. We also love to see how they incorporate the wedding trends of the season and make them their own. Here are some of our favorite things right now.

Metals: We loved when couples started to incorporate more silver and gold into their wedding pallet over the past few years. This year its full-blown metal! Gold, silver, rose gold, pewter and copper. They are so versatile, and really compliment so many different color arrangements. We love how they can easily dress up, or soften the feel of the whole day.

Whimsical Floral: So far, we have seen a huge amount of our brides sticking with what we like to call “sophisticated whimsical” floral. This includes large soft flowers such as garden roses or peonies, paired with beautiful succulents, that gives off a romantic and classic look.

Sugar: Who doesn’t love cake? Just a few years ago and still a bit now, it was popular to have cupcakes. I mean it’s the perfect portion all ready to go for your guests. However, this year the movement seems to be leaning towards beautiful multi-tiered cakes. We can’t complain because these stunning works of art are not only beautiful to look at, but also still delicious as ever.

Gown: This category is ever changing and we love it because it means we get to see new and fabulous dresses every season. Color is making a huge come back and in the most gorgeous way ever. May it be just a slight hint of pink to the overall gown, or possibly small details that give off a hue of your “something blue”. We also are seeing an increase of sleeves in all sorts and cutouts in flattering places. This gives such a nice update to the classic silhouette of a wedding dress.

The Wedding Day

This fabulous wedding at the Omni Montelucia is everything classic and romantic as can be.
Nicole’s gown is breathtaking. The dress is head to toe lace, with just the slightest hint of beading to make it sparkle and shine in the sun. We particularly love the deep back of the dress that really shows off her silhouette.

Nicole’s florals were the perfect touch for the day. They are a soft mix of all white roses, gardenias, baby’s breath and greenery. With the amazing gold glitter of the décor accents and bridesmaids dresses, everything was stunning.

The Vows:

These two have a special love, and it is really shown in their vows to each other. Grad the tissues…

Trevor:

“Nicole I vow, I’ll love you as you are. Loving who you are now and who you are yet to become. I promise to listen to you and learn from you, to support you and to accept your support. Celebrate your triumphs and mourn your losses as if they were my own. I will love you and have faith in your love for me though all of our years and all that life may bring us.”

Nicole:

“Trevor, you are my best friend, my companion, my lover and my better half. I promise you my internal love, faithfulness, support, encouragement and companionship through life. I promise to celebrate your triumphs and to love you even more deeply when the times get tough. I promise to take care of you for today, tomorrow and eternity. I promise to kiss you every morning when we wake up and every night before we go to bed. I promise to be patient, kind, honest and forgiving. I promise to always keep our lives full of many adventures You are my person and I couldn’t be any more blessed or grateful.”

How They Met

It was an act of physical fitness that brought these two together, and we would be willing to bet that they are forever thankful for the gym where they met. The love between Gabrielle and Trent is vivid. In the toasts made by Gabrielle’s mom and Trent’s brother, you can hear that these two were meant for each other. Gabrielle’s mother even claims, she knew that Trent was her future son in law from the first moment she met him!

The Wedding

We love the Silverleaf Golf and Country Club venue. It is one of the most romantic and intimate venues we have filmed, and we get excited when a couple chooses it. Between the beautiful stone walls and the deep wood décor, it gives you the genuine feeling that you are in a castle.  Since the venue has such a bold and exquisite presence, we love that Gabrielle and Trent choose very soft florals to add in. The blush pink and ivory, along with the succulents down the aisle and mixed into the bouquets are the perfect touch to give the day that natural look.

Gabrielle’s dress was fit for a princess. From the endless ruffles down the skirt, to the fully beaded bodice, it was just breathtaking.  The addition of the jeweled headpiece was the seamless final touch.

We love the personalized details that went into this beautiful day such as Gabrielle’s awesome and super comfortable wedding shoes, Glamified pumas! The succulents that were given to the guests as favors were the perfect idea. We love when you can give something that will continue to grow long after the wedding is over.  Plus, they had fire pits and gave all the guests the cutest little marshmallow sets to enjoy!

This perfect day, ended in an even more perfect evening, with an abundance of fireworks.

How They Met

The love between Ashley and Sean is very real and you can feel it when you are with them. They first met while working together. You can ask each of them separately and they will both say that as soon as they met, they knew immediately there was something special about one another. They have dated for several years, and early on, Ashley knew Sean was the one she was going to marry, possibly even before Sean knew. They share a love and compassion for one another that is undeniable.

The Proposal

Family is very important to both Sean and Ashley, So important, that Ashley made it clear that she wanted to have her family involved in the proposal. Since her family lives far away and are not are not around on a daily basis, this was not an easy task. Sean knocked it out of the park however! When he finally did get down on one knee, it was Christmas morning and also happened to be in front of her parents, her brother and Sean’s son.

The Wedding Day

These two love birds were married at the gorgeous El Chorro venue in October. Ashley’s dress is so perfect and unique. We love that it looks like it was covered in white flowers from head to toe, not to mention she looks stunning in it and looks like it was made just for her.

Its well known how much we LOVE the color pink, but we are really getting into this white trend right now. Ashley and Sean had all white floral and décor and it gives such a chic, clean and classic vibe. The bridesmaids were in black, which just makes the white pop even more.

When you hear from the bridal party, its overwhelming clear that this beautiful couple is surrounded by a huge network of friends and family that are so excited that they have found each other.

Dusty Rose Wedding At Desert Mountain | Videographer Phoenix

Dusty Rose Wedding At Desert Mountain | Videographer Phoenix

Neutral weddings are very in right now, and we are LOVING IT. Sarah + Scott’s wedding was right on trend with their cream, dusty rose and of course stunning gold color pallet. This color scheme has such a warm, soft and natural feel to it, its perfect for intimate weddings.

We adore Sarah’s dress. Its totally unique and perfect in every way for their wedding. The sash around her waist pulls in the dusty rose color, and the deep V neckline of the front of the gown is to die for, and the gold shoes are just the cherry on top.

The view of their Desert Mountain ceremony site is breathtaking. It is paired perfectly with the cream and blush tons in the floral bouquets.  Sarah and Scott’s reception is one for the books. Located at the Desert Mountain Outlaw Clubhouse, it was set up beautifully outside under the stars and surrounded by the ever popular bistro lights.

The best part about this wedding film (besides the couple of course) is that Sarah’s parents totally surprised the bride and groom and they had no idea this was even happening. How awesome is that? This beautiful couple met though a mutual friend in 11th grade, and have been together ever since. We think its incredible when a couple can be together for over a decade and still be head over heels for each other.

You can not only hear the love they have for each other in their vows, but also from their family. Sarah’s parents, Scott’s parents and the wedding party all speak so highly of them. Not only do they agree they are perfect for each other, but they also really seem to look up to and admire the relationship that Sarah and Scott have.

A Wedding Film is FIRST thing cut from the wedding budget yet the #1 REGRET a couple has after a wedding if they decided not to get one. The very thought of a couple not having a wedding film documenting their wedding day makes me beyond sad. So many moments and memories lost… So here is my pitch… Take what you like and leave the rest.

1. Who is at your wedding sadly may not be here 10 years from now. Over my 9 years in business I have had 7 couples lose someone unexpectedly after the wedding. Many of those couples that was the last time they ever saw that person and heard their voice was on their wedding day. Can you even imagine not hearing your mom’s words to you as she zipped you into your dress? Or your dad’s toast to you on your wedding day? Or what your groom says to you the moment he first sees you in your dress. Lost, lost and lost if you opt out of a wedding film. I hate to be morbid but it is a truth. Document the say… No matter the curve balls life throws us you will be so glad to have a video record of those who were with you that day.

Kristen + Kent | Videographer Phoenix

2. Of course you are going to have a Photographer on your wedding day. But Photos and a Wedding Film go hand and hand. A Photographer will give you snapshots of moments. We will give you the sound and motion from those moments. Together we are your memory team giving you multiple facets and angles of the day. I have NEVER had a couple say to me that they had too many memories of their wedding day… As soon as people find out what I do for a living inevitably the ones who didn’t have a cinematographer at their wedding ALWAYS say to me “That was our biggest regret.. I so wish we had a wedding film. We decided against it and I wish we hadn’t”. I have NEVER had someone say to me “I wish we didn’t invest in a wedding film” even if it wasn’t a great film they are still glad they have it.
3. The day goes sooooooo fast. The morning after your wedding you will discuss with your spouse how amazing it was and you will both agree that it went by lightening fast. And if you decided to invest in a wedding film you will have a sense of peace in knowing that you have that memory forever but also that you will soon get to re-live that day when the film is finished. We will show you in your film parts of the day that you never knew existed. You will get to see your day from a completely different angle. You will get to re-live it like it is brand new again and that is priceless.

Alexis + Dylan | Videographer Phoenix

4. You will want this memory if you decide to have a family. While it may not be on the radar now having a family might be in the picture one day and you will regret deeply not being able to share the day of your wedding with your future children. They will want to see what life was like before they came along.
5.  In this day and age with all of the technology it just makes sense. Wedding films can now be easily shared with family and friends. You want those that attended and those that couldn’t to be able to share in the memories. Wedding films are nothing like they used to be. They are high quality productions now. They are a customized story of your wedding day and they are fabulous and a MUST HAVE in your wedding budget.

Navy and Blush Wedding JW Marriott Camelback Inn | Videographer Phoenix

Navy and Blush Wedding JW Marriott Camelback Inn | Videographer Phoenix

Blair and Timothy first met when they both worked at J Crew together. It wasn’t until later on, when they both had new jobs that they started dating.

Last August, Tim and Blair took a trip to Phoenix to visit some of Tim’s family. Blair’s parents (Don and Jennifer) joined them on the trip. They wanted to meet Tim and they have always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, so it was the perfect time.

The first day of their trip went well and they ended the night Being exhausted. Most of that can be attributed to Tim’s outgoing and talkative personality that especially comes out when he is nervous. Poor Tim was so nervous because he was going to ask permission to marry Blair.

The next day, Blair and her mom went to get their nails done and Tim and Blair’s dad went to play golf. Tim was going to ask Don if he could marry his daughter. Tim was so nervous, he played the worst game of his life. Unfortunately, they played with two other gentlemen and there was not really a chance for him to ask for Blair’s hand. They went back to the hotel and just as Tim was building up the courage to ask, Blair called to let him know she and Mom were ready to be picked up. She had ruined Tim’s moment.

That night they all had dinner at Tim’s grandparents’ house. Tim went to pick up Blair’s parents from the hotel and in the car finally got his chance to ask permission to propose to Blair. Thankfully they said yes!

Here comes the best part. The following morning, they all went to the Grand Canyon. Just as Tim got down on one knee and he opened the ring box, the ring came flying out of the box and bounced toward the edge of the Grand Canyon. Tim’s heart practically stopped. Luckily, Tim reached out and about 6 inches from the edge of the canyon, stopped the ring from falling. Tim quickly put the ring back in the box and tapped Blair on the shoulder. He very quickly asked “Will you marry me?” For a man known for talking, this was one time he was short on words. Blair immediately said yes.

That whole day, Tim ran around telling everyone he could that Blair had said yes to him. Most people at the Grand Canyon were tourists, many from abroad, and spoke little to no English, so merely smiled at him as if he was a crazy man. Finally, Tim found a family that spoke English and the woman brought her whole family over to meet the happy couple. There were champagne toasts at lunch, lots of phone calls and texts to tell family and friends, and a wonderful day that neither Tim nor Blair will forget.

While Eric and Megan lived only a few blocks from one another in San Francisco, it took joining a popular dating app to get the two of them together.
For their first date, Eric recommended an amazing wine bar in North Beach called Dell’Uva, not having the slightest idea that the location was about 50 feet from Megan’s front door. Of course, she appreciated the convenience of all of this, and was smitten with the adorable guy who was waiting there to meet her.

Once they were dating, luck would have it that they started bumping into one another all the time They still can’t believe that they hadn’t met before, especially since Megan walked past Eric’s apartment twice a day on her way to and from work!

Hiking in Sedona led to the very sweet proposal. Since Sedona is such a beautiful setting, and they the outdoors they knew it would be the perfect location to get married.

This wedding was one of a kind. Cocktail hour had a lounge area and a corn hole set, so that guests could truly enjoy themselves. We also loved the unique guest book they had! Its not too often you have your guests sign a snowboard! Meanwhile the reception looked straight out of a fairytale. With beautiful twinkle lights strung across the candlelight tables, and bonfires to keep you warm. You would never want the night to end.
